But of course students from HSL-Braille College are not only good in showcasing talents to everyone but also students can produce imaginative and constructive works that brings excellence to the schools. So, in this case, some students made an English and Filipino poems that are dedicated to their teachers which were shown and opened by their teachers which is actually felt the love and appreciation from their students.

During that time, everybody especially our dear teachers were glad with the result of the event. It was successful and meaningful to everyone.

As expected, they will be served by generous students who voluntarily give their time to give service to our dear teachers. They will enjoy, have fun and relax the rest of the day.

I would like to show them this side of teachers too. This will make us respect them more. Today I am using this podium as an opportunity to show another side. Some students make an unnecessary ruckus in class, I request those students that please do not trouble our teachers, they are working hard to build our future.

Today on this occasion of teachers day, instead of speaking on a generic topic for teachers day; I would like to express my thoughts about my favorite teachers. I have learned invaluable life lessons from them, In reality, they put the same effort on all students but some fail to understand it.

To start with, let me tell you what I learned from our maths teacher. Like any other maths teacher, she is strict and disciplined. I used to get afraid of her when she used to come to class. One day she explained to us why discipline and dedication are important in life and how it can positively affect the life.

I bet all of my classmates remember that day. She taught us that, to succeed in life we need to have discipline, we should organize our homework, home chores and time too. Further, she added, we must find time to play too and do that we need to learn time management. I have tried to implement her suggestion and let me tell now I save at least 2 to 3 hours daily. I use this newfound free time to work on my hobby, i. I love to paint, I am not that good but I feel good when I paint.

Thank you very much miss. Most of you might have seen me a little overweight last year, and I was. I used to eat junk food, never had a schedule of sleep. All credit goes to our PT Teacher. Earlier I used to skip PT Class, I have made all possible excuses in the world to avoid the physical training. Sir knows my father, last Diwali he came to our home. That day he and my parents were discussing yoga, balanced diet, work-life balance etc.

He is so inspiring when he speaks, I bet no one else had listened to him. Sir, I would request you to address students on this topic. Indirectly you made an impact on me, I learned a lot of things from you like Ekalavya. I am much healthier and active now. With your inspiring words, lots of us can march on this journey of health and fitness.

Let me take this opportunity to say thank you. Generally, we think teachers supposed to teach from textbooks only. Teachers are much more than that, they teach us life lessons too. Like our mathematics and PT teacher, every teacher has contributed to shaping my career and me too. I thank you to you all from bottom of my heart.

There is a famous saying in India, Teachers are the second parents of the students. Parent give birth to their children and teachers, gurus, guides teach them to succeed in life, show them the path towards success.

Indian society takes education very seriously, every parent wants their children to be educated. In short, in India education have a great importance. But in the same country, we ignore the people who carry this humongous responsibility on their shoulders, those are our teachers. Teachers are the backbone of the Indian education system. But somehow they are not getting the value they supposed to get. A greater role is expected from them but they never get due credit for same.

They face their own struggles, problem and overcome them to fulfill students aspirations. From the fringes it looks like that teachers are there to teach, they should put their heart and soul into teaching the students. But in reality, the situation is different. Teachers get a lot of administrative, elections, and government-related work. In all this, the education system and government forget what is the job, work, responsibility of a teacher. Teachers participate in a lot of administrative work whether it is school, college or university.

They prepare timetables, supervise exams, take part in annual gathering, events, program, science exhibitions and what not. The system ignores that after all these extra responsibilities teachers suppose to teach students in such a way that students understand it.

In India, it is somewhat true. There are reasons behind it, in India teaching is not considered as the best job one wants for their children. They should be encouraged to excel in the subject they like the most. Sometimes teachers and schools make it a prestige issue to produce high scoring students. In my younger days, getting a first class, — scoring even 60 per cent of marks was considered a big achievement.

Today, students easily score 95 percent or even 98 per cent marks. As a result, students who score less than 75 per cent get depressed. Some parents also get depressed. I do not say, students should not score good marks. They should work hard, but there should be a healthy competition. Students should not be subjected to the stress of learning. The emphasis should be more on making the student understand the concept and think independently.

For this to happen, teachers will have to be innovative themselves. They will have to make learning interactive and pleasurable experience for students. It is all the more. I also want them to understand how Social Media works.
